Why should you buy art from Fiercely Curious? Why not buy a $20 poster from Fab.com and slap it in an IKEA frame? Sure, and you can buy your coffee at Dunkin Donuts too if you want.
Everything Original & Handmade
Every piece of work on our site is original, unique and made by hand.Cecelia hand-stretches, sizes, paints and adds an archival finish to her 6 ft canvases right in her Brooklyn studio. Jake photographs, burns screens, paints and prints his industrial scenes by hand. David shades graphite layer upon layer to create one singular image and if too dark, he must start all over again. Everything took dedication, heart, soul and love. Even the photography on the site is limited edition and printed locally, using the highest quality archival papers to last.
Everything Local
We believe you should always know where things come from. Food, wine, clothing, art. Buy local where you can. This is something we believe so all of our artists live and work in Brooklyn and we offer free shipping for Manhattan and Brooklyn (use the code "Brooklyn" at checkout). How does that work? Well we get on the subway and hand deliver your art to you. We'll grab a beer with you and tell you some stories too if you'll let us.
Sustainable & Made to Last
Art can last for hundreds of years. Have you ever thought about what that means? Long after you're gone something you purchased and connected with might make it's way into the hands of your children. Or your children's children. You're buying a little piece of history. We are giving you stories that we hope you will pass down through generations along with these works. Heirlooms.
Connect with a story
There's a thrill in buying stories because you never quite know what you're going to get. Something quirky, something special. Something human and personal. When was the last time that you connected with something you bought online? We're only at the beginnings of our vision right now but ultimately we want to enable and foster those connections. Don't just hang something pretty on the wall - meet the artist or learn about why and how they made it and look after it for generations to come. Your kids will thank you one day.
Beyond Brooklyn as a brand for hipsters & beards
We've got nothing against beards. Or hipsters. In fact we might even
be them. But the "brand" of Brooklyn has to stand for something more meaningful. Something with purpose. We believe the brand is tied to the maker movement. Hard work and dedication with one’s own hands and time.
So join us. And buy art.
