We did it!
And we couldn't be happier with our very first ever pop-up gallery show! We'd like to give a massive thank you to everyone who came out to show their support for these 12 Brooklyn based artists. The event was HOT! Newscasters, critics, artists, writers, actors, photographers, brooklynites, manhattanites, friends and strangers. We pulled in a crowd of amazing people and even had a full house all day Saturday with people interested in what we're doing and dropping in off the street. We couldn't be more appreciative and we love you all. Thank you!
Open for business!
Sunny Day 2
Thank You. Thank You. Thank You.
We'd love to thank the following people extra-specially:
While preparing for the event we reached out to a few different folks and Mailchimp was incredibly kind to sponsor the event. I've personally been using Mailchimp for over 5 years now and just can't say enough good things about them. Come for the amazing email services, stay for the wonderful people who work there. It's super easy to use and plus they have a cute mascot so if you're in the market for some email management check em out: mailchimp.com
If you were lucky enough to hear the story from us on how we found St. Lydia's - the space the event was hosted in - then great. If you didn't get to hear the story grab us in person and we'll give you the whole low-down. Anyway, an incredible thanks to Emily at St. Lydia's for responding to my handwritten note taped on their door and for letting us use their space on a small scrappy budget and for being wonderful throughout the whole process. They're transforming it into a dinner church soon along with a communal work space, so check 'em out and support them: www.stlydias.org
Megan, Maddy, Brendy and Brittany from Lulu Lemon on Smith Street
. All of the girls were INCREDIBLY helpful volunteering their time, energy and enthusiasm for the show giving us invaluable helping hands and ensuring drinks were flowing and candles were lit in our sculpture garden! They also let us borrow their chalkboard sign to prop up outside the show. So, thank you!
On top of all those kind people we also had some wonderful donations for the show from Brooklyn Wine Exchange
(aka the best wine shop on Court Street!) and American Beer Distributors
(aka the best beer shop on Court Street!).
And of course, last but not least THANK YOU to all the artists. As ever they are the heros and without them we would be nothing! Thanks x
We'll be talking a lot more about what's next very soon but for now we've updated the site with all the works from the show so if something caught your eye, check it out on the site!
Thank you again.
